The all-round barcode scanner for retail
The PowerScan Retail Barcode Scanner Series is based on the models of the popular PowerScan industrial scanner series, which is known for its high robustness and reliability in fast data acquisition. The PowerScan series comes in 3 variants with cable, narrow bank radio or Bluetooth radio technology. The PowerScan Retail model variants are available in black and white and can be used in both 1D and 2D codes read in the best quality. To confirm the successful reading to the cashier, the retail scanner has three clearly visible LEDs and the patented Datalogic Green spot. This shows the user a green confirmation dot directly on the code that has just been read, which significantly reduces misinterpretation and makes it almost impossible. Using the presentation cradle, the PowerScan Retail becomes a free-hand scanner. If the barcode scanner is connected to the presentation cradle, it automatically switches to simple hands-free operation. The STAR 2.0 narrowband radio system includes seamless roaming and two-way communication.
PowerScan scanners support new coding in retail
In addition to conventional 1D and 2D barcodes, the barcode scanners support codes based on digital watermarks, such as Digimarc barcodes. These codes contain the same GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) data as UPC/EAN symbologies. Since they are not visible, they can be distributed over the entire packaging area without affecting the design of the packaging. At the same time, the time-consuming search for the barcode during the scanning process at the checkout is no longer necessary. Dust and moisture protected according to protection class IP65, 2 m drop protection and a retail temperature range of -20°C to 50°C summarize the advantages of the PowerScan series.
Datalogic PowerScan-Retail: Several model variants available:
- PowerScan PD9501-RT: Wired handheld scanner
- PowerScan PM9501-RT: Radio handheld scanner, based on the narrowband radio system STAR Cordless System from Datalogic. The narrowband radio version also has variants with a display and buttons to make communication and interaction with the merchandise management system easier.
- PowerScan PBT9501-RT: Radio handheld scanner, based on Bluetooth wireless technology
