Pick by Scan – the easiest method for picking
Pick by Scan picking is referred to as paperless picking, which is carried out using devices such as: mobile data collection (MDE) is supported. In principle, the mobile data collection devices replace the classic paper form of order picking work. Mobile handheld computers with integrated are used for this purpose 1D or 2D barcode scanner, which guide the employee step by step through the individual picking positions. Your employees can either hold the practical handheld computers in their hands or, for example, on one Forklift attach. The mobile device provides you with information about the orders for the individual pick positions. The order-related data can be provided locally or using a network connection. No matter which variant you prefer, your employee will always receive the details of the customer order. The employee has an overview of the storage location and the quantity to be removed. Pick by Scan – step by step
Picking lists are loaded to the employees on the corresponding MDE devices or tablet PCs. A wide variety of mobile devices for industrial applications with Windows or Android operating systems are available to choose from. The order picker is shown on the display MDE device the storage location and the goods to be removed are shown. Depending on which storage or system configuration is in place in the company, the removal of the goods must be scanned individually or once as a whole. The total quantity is acknowledged once in the order at the end. The order picker scans the storage location number and the associated item number at the item's location. The corresponding barcodes are captured using the integrated barcode readers. If incorrect items or incorrect storage location information is recorded, an error message will appear on the mobile system. This means incorrect picking can be avoided. Pick by Scan via MDE only works with the designated barcodes. These can usually be found at the storage location, in the storage compartment and on the goods themselves. The advantage of MDE devices is that they have an efficient battery that usually lasts between six and eight hours. The target/actual differences are displayed again after each scan of the order, so errors during removal can be automatically avoided. When all pick items have been completed and processed, this is automatically communicated to the merchandise system or ERP system through a manual trigger. Packing lists and shipping documents are also printed automatically afterwards. The actual inventory comparison takes place either in real time or at the end of a picking shift.
