When it comes to the scanning engine for capturing barcodes, you can choose between a standard imager and an imager with an extended scanning range, depending on your needs. Both options capture both 1D and 2D codes quickly and precisely. As far as the operating system is concerned, you are absolutely future-proof with the CT40. The current version of the device ships with Android 7.1.1, but Honeywell guarantees support with upgrades up to Android version Q.
